Child & Adolescent Trauma Resources
Supervisor Training
Supervision is a crucial component of any mental health professionals work - especially when delivering trauma-focused therapies. In this four-module e-learning we outline tips, key information, and a new framework, to help make the most of supervision, and support therapists and clinicians in delivering high-quality trauma-therapies.
We recommend doing all components in the order presented, but the training is also designed that you can focus in on particular areas of relevance to you and your team. Any information in these modules can also be shared more widely in your team, where helpful.
Module 1

Getting started with supervision

Module 2
When to Start Trauma Therapy
This module presents a new framework and tool to support high-quality and pro-active supervision. This model has been developed and used within the National Child & Adolescent Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression Clinic. In this module key concepts are demonstrated using role-plays of two clinical cases: 'Maddison' and 'Darius'. These cases were developed from broad clinical experience, but do not reflect any single case or child. Module 3

Getting 'un-stuck': Problem-solving common challenges
Delivering trauma-focused CBTs can be challenging - particularly when it gets to talking about and working on trauma memories. However, we know this is where the most improvement is likely to happen. This module provides information on formulation and getting 'un-stuck' in therapy.
